The problem with the brake hydraulic hose caused TADANO to recall the off-road crane
One of the most reliable companies in the industry, TADANO company of Japan withdrew 425 off-road cranes in the Japanese market.
On June 22, 2004, the company submitted a notice to the Ministry of land, resources and transportation of Japan on withdrawing the 16ttr-160m off-road crane produced from September 1997 to May 2004.
TADANO told reporters: "there will be problems with the brake hydraulic hose replaced after the crane leaves the factory."
"Due to improper fixed structure or brake hydraulic hose configuration, sometimes the replaced new brake hydraulic hose may be distorted, bent and improperly installed during periodic safety inspection of crane vehicles in the factory." A spokesman for the company said.
"When the steering wheel is turned to the maximum, the improper installation of the brake hose may be caught by the steering brake device, resulting in brake oil leakage. The worst case is the reduction of braking capacity."
The company believes that the correction of this problem is simple. All damaged hoses will be replaced and a hose fixing structure will be installed in the axle housing.
A TADANO spokesman said: during our inspection, it was found that if the brake hose was replaced correctly, the problem could not occur. After the fixed structure of brake hose is installed in the axle housing, even if the brake hose is bent or twisted during installation, the brake can be prevented from being hung by the steering brake device.
